All of life is a journey we move
from one season of life into another and each season is filled
with it's own challenges as well as adventures. New discoveries
in science, medicine, and technology also bring with those
discoveries some interesting changes in our life's journey.
Whenever the presentation of the Christian messages fails
to address those changes in a relevant manner it becomes out
dated and looses its effect.
It is our observation
that it is not the message that is ineffective or out dated,
but rather our presentation of the message. For this reason
we have developed the following "JOURNEY GROUPS"
to bring "relevance to the presentation," to where
you are in your journey.
Take
the journey (Encourager)
ENCOURAGERS GROUP, the purpose of this
group is to train its members how to be encouragers
of others on their journey. One of our observations
regarding the Christian church world is that leadership
often assumes that its members do not have the
necessary gifting to understand the bible or the
leading of God for himself or herself. As a result
leadership often assumes a role in peoples lives
that God has not given them. Another observation
we have made is that ministers often make ministry
about them, or their vision, it is seldom really
about helping people. In this group we explore
how to reverse the damaging effects in peoples
lives that have come as a result of this type
of leadership. We also explore ways to walk along
side of others on their journey to encourage them
in their exploration, discoveries, and adventures
without attempting to manipulate or control them.
