1. What is Turning point all about?
We exist to help people find wholeness, and
purpose in life through a meaningful
relationship with God. Most believers stumble
through life struggling with the same things
year after year. Our desire is to see people so
established in the love of God that they
experience a "turning point" that they didn't
think was possible. This wholeness does not
come thought our efforts or out attempt to do
right. It comes from us re-discovering who God
is and what he thinks of us. This re-discovery
starts people on a journey into the center of
who God is and how much he loves us. As a
church body, we simply provide the tools to
assist people on their journey toward
wholeness. As people go through this process
they become established in what Jesus
accomplished on the cross and have a complete
trust in a God who loves them unconditionally.
As a result, they are not easily shaken. The
tools we provide are not so much learning
exercises, but rather are ways to write the
truths of God's word on the "tablets of your
heart." We invite you to talk to us about
this journey.

What is your primary message?
A person cannot love or trust someone whom they
fear. Religion has given us the impossible task
of trying to trust and love a God who we are
afraid of. We assist people in their journey of
establishing their heart in what we call Grace,
Peace and Faith Righteousness. In short we lead
people through the scriptures where they
re-discover who God is, and as a result, they
are able to rely on his Grace (his ability) to
change their lives and heal their heart. The
incredible thing is that this Grace is
effortless on their part. People who have gone
through this process have said things like "I
have been born again, again". Others have
been so affected by this message that they have
been healed physically without anyone praying
for them.

Who are you trying to reach?
People who desire a meaningful relationship with
God but have gotten, burned out, sidetracked or
frustrated with religion. Many people have
shared with us that their walk with God simply
isn't working anymore. They are frustrated with
feelings of failure, guilt and a sense of
letting God down. They feel like God is distant
and they seldom experience his love and
presence. They conclude that God is pulling
away, testing them or simply isn't that
concerned with them. The good news is that many
of us have traveled this same road and have
discovered the way out. Hence, we desire to
show others the effortless journey out the maze
of religion and into the arms of a loving God.

What is your philosophy of ministry?
We are committed to establishing a church whose
primary purpose is to build people and see them
established in the love of God! We will never
use people to build our ministry. We believe
that success comes when everyone around us is
successful. We do not want you to give up your
dreams to fulfill this church's vision. We want
you to live your dreams while serving together
with us to fulfill the vision of making people
whole through the love of God.

You talk about making people feel save, how do
you do this?
A person's value is never based on who they are
or what they do. A person is valued simply
because God loves and values them. We make
preserving a person's dignity and worth of the
utmost importance. We will not use pressure,
control or manipulative tactics in relating to
people. Additionally, we give the highest value
to confidentiality. Many have shared with us
that our church atmosphere is one where they are
able to make free and loving choices. It is our
desire that this atmosphere continue.

You talk about establishing people in a bible
base sense of self worth, what is this all
about?
Most people live their lives out of at least one
of the following core beliefs. One, I must meet
certain standards to feel good about myself.
Secondly, I must have the approval of certain
others to feel good about myself. Thirdly,
those who fail, including me, deserved to be
punished. Lastly, I am what I am, I cannot
change I am hopeless.
In this journey of spiritual healing, they
discover the enormous value God has placed on
them. We teach them how to write this truth on
their heart as they look to him as their source.
As this happens, these false beliefs drop off
and struggles with shame and guilt become
history. When their emotions are responding to
the value God has given them they are free to
dream again and become everything God has
designed them to be.

Can a person who has been stuck for years really
be set free by your message?
Yes, yes and again yes. Many of us involved in
Turning Point were stuck for years. The longest
among us was 52 years. It doesn't seem to have
anything to do with the length of time being
stuck. If there is a common denominator, it
appears to be hunger or desperation. People who
are satisfied with religion seldom seem to "get"
this message. Hungry or desperate people seem
to eat it up!

8. What is different about
your approach to leadership?
First, it is not built on the "buddy system" or
who has the "anointing." We take those who
desire to lead through a process so that those
who end up leading are doing so from a heart of
serving and not from a place of getting self
worth needs met. Secondly, they must go through
a time of involvement and serving so that they
are tested in the area of conflict resolution
and building healthy relationships. Thirdly,
they must have appropriated our message and
philosophy into their life (see question 1,2, &
5 above). This process is slower, but each time
we have tried to circumvent it we have regretted

9. Will I have a place in your church family?
In all likelihood yes, we are not about you
coming in and "catching our vision." We are
about equipping you to live your vision. If
you're looking for a body that is built on
healthy, stable relationships you will enjoy it
here. If you are looking for an environment
where you can be made whole by the love of God,
you will find this church very satisfying. If
you are looking for a place where God and your
dreams can become a reality, you have found it!
